Booking, travel and the wedding day
Do you travel to remote venues, and what does that cost?
Anywhere in Colorado is fair game, and I genuinely love shooting in places that require a drive. For venues within about 90 minutes of Colorado Springs, there is no travel fee. Beyond that, a modest fee for fuel or lodging may apply depending on the distance. I will always share that number before you book, so there are no surprises.
How early should we reach out?
Peak season dates, June through October, tend to fill up 12 to 18 months out. If your date is coming up soon, please reach out anyway. A signed contract and retainer are what lock everything in, and I take only one wedding per day so your day always gets my complete focus.
What if the weather turns on our day?
Mountain weather is part of the story, not a problem to solve. Some of the most cinematic films I have ever made happened under dramatic storm skies. I carry weather-sealed gear and adapt in real time. If the timeline needs to shift, we shift with it and keep rolling.
How will we receive the finished film?
Your film arrives through a private, password-protected Vimeo link you can stream, share, and download in full resolution. Legacy package couples also receive a custom USB drive with all files. Everything is backed up for at least two years after delivery.
When will we receive our film?
You will have your film within 8 to 12 weeks of your wedding day, and usually sooner. I know you are going to want to watch it the moment it lands, and honestly, so am I. A short teaser typically arrives within two to three weeks. If you need the full film sooner, rush delivery is available: ask me during your consultation and I will quote it for your date.
What if we need to change our wedding date?
Life happens, and I do my best to work with you when it does. Your retainer transfers to a new date if I am available. If your new date is already taken on my calendar, I will connect you with a trusted colleague whose work I stand behind. The rescheduling terms are all laid out in your contract from the very beginning.
Do you offer photography and videography together?
No. Peak Wedding Films is video only, so you hire your photographer separately and Andrew films alongside them on the day. Photos hold the frame; the film holds your vows in your own voices, the toasts and the music.
Do we need a videographer if we already have a photographer?
They capture different things, and only one of them records sound. Photographs hold the frame; a film holds your vows in your own voices, the toast that made the room laugh, the music, and the way people moved. Most couples who skip video say later that the sound is what they wish they had.
Will we actually watch it, or will it sit on a drive?
Your film is delivered as a private, password-protected link you can open on a phone, a laptop or a TV, so watching it takes one tap rather than hunting for a file. Legacy couples also get a USB copy, and everything stays backed up for at least two years after delivery.
Will you be in our faces all day and make it feel staged?
No. The day is shot as it happens, with long lenses and distance wherever distance works. Nothing during the ceremony is re-staged, re-shot or re-said for the camera.
What happens to our film if something goes wrong with the footage?
Footage is recorded and backed up on the day, then held in redundant storage for at least two years after delivery. The specific gear and backup routine for your date is something to ask about on your consultation call, and the answer goes in your contract.
Can we watch a full wedding film, not just a highlight reel?
Yes. Ask on your consultation call and a full-length film gets sent over. Highlight reels are how the work gets shown publicly, but a full film is what you are actually buying.
Who owns the raw footage, and can we get a copy of it?
Raw footage is available as an add-on, currently 350, and it is delivered alongside the finished film. If you want every unedited minute of your ceremony and toasts, add it at booking rather than afterwards.
Will our wedding end up on Instagram without us agreeing to it?
Nothing is published without your say-so. Portfolio use is covered in your contract and you can decline it there. Couples who want the film kept entirely private get that.
Will the music get muted if we post the film online?
Films are cut with licensed music, so a post is not a copyright problem waiting to happen. If you want a particular song, raise it early so licensing can be checked before the edit.
What makes you different from the other Colorado videographer we are comparing you to?
One wedding per day, one shooter, and the person who filmed your day is the person who edits it. Nothing is handed to a junior editor and nothing is queued behind a second wedding that same weekend.
We are camera shy. Will that ruin the footage?
It will not. Most couples say the same thing beforehand and forget the camera is there within the first hour. Coverage is shot from a distance, and the moments that carry a film are the unposed ones anyway.
